Where can I price out closet doors online?
Reens asked:
In my bedroom there are two seperate closets next to each other and I would like to make it one big closet by knocking out the wall in between. First, is this a bigger project than I think? On the inside there is only about 6 inches in between closets, but the outside is about 2 feet.

I am having trouble pricing out doors online. Because it will be a 76″ opening, I would like to get bifold doors instead of sliding doors. I’m not looking to spend a lot either.
Any advice is greatly appreciated…

hi, first it is a big job to tear out the wall. there is a header above each opening that usually carries the weight of the ceiling above it, and can also carry the roof bracing above that. so i would not remove the walls. bi-fold doors usually are ordered in equal feet, meaning you could get 72″ or 6 foot bifolds. the height must also be figured 80″ inches is standard. if you put the bi-folds on jambs you could narrow down the opening and install casing around the door to match the trim at your bedroom door. it is a lot cheaper to install sliding doors like the original.it will cost a third less at least
